Who We Are

Debra AdamsDebra Adams leads the arena4|finance training team. She is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), qualifying in 1990. Her early career was spent training and working in finance roles with an international hotel group followed by 11 years spent in higher education at Bournemouth University and subsequently with a range of accredited training providers designing training programmes both for classroom delivery and online. She has written and presented widely on the subject of demystifying business accounting.

Debra established arena4|finance in 2004 with a philosophy based on the use of blended learning to maximize the benefit of the learning experience. arena4|finance is able to offer face to face learning as well as online classrooms, electronic resources and learning management systems.

Her book ‘Management Accounting for the Hospitality Industry – A Strategic Approach’, republished by Thomson in 2006, is widely used both in the UK and overseas, as a core text for courses in hospitality management. Debra has delivered courses for non financial managers to a number of clients including Compass Group, De Vere Hotels, Thistle Hotels, Whitbread Hotels, the charities Crisis and Diabetes UK, Harvey Nicholls, Lloyds TSB and Granada plc as well as visiting lecturer roles at a number of institutions in past and currently at Les Roche and the Lausanne Hotel School, Switzerland and the Emirates Academy, Dubai.

Debra is Director of Education for HOSPA, formerly the British Association of Hospitality Accountants, and has been instrumental in the development and success of several education projects for accountants working in the hospitality industry. She is a business advisor for South West Young Enterprise working in a local school. Debra has recently gained a Masters degree in Online and Distance Learning from the Open University.

 Jane Scott

 Jane is an experienced education administrator working with our clients to ensure the smooth running  of all our courses. Jane has responsibility for managing specific education projects with clients such as  HOSPA, formerly the British Association of Hospitality Accountants ensuring that systems and  processes are in place for maintaining accreditation of client courses from awarding bodies including  the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Open University and Oxford Brookes University.

 Wayne Gosden
Marketing and Events Co-ordinator

 Wayne graduated from the University of the West of England, Bristol with a BA (Hons) degree in  Marketing with Business Administration.

 He joined arena4finance in August 2010 and has a true passion for understanding customer needs and  communications. Wayne has a dual remit in that he looks after all membership activities and events  for our key client, HOSPA formerly the British Association of Hospitality Accountants, as well as developing the marketing communications for arena4finance.

 Martina Ertlmeier
 Business Development Assistant

 Martina joined the team as a graduate from Bournemouth University with a degree in Media and  Communications. Martina is responsible for developing new business opportunities and providing  client support.
